Mexican Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    1/2 c. white Karo syrup
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. oleo
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. pecans, broken in pieces
Preparation
    Mix first 4 ingredients.
    Boil until it reaches soft ball stage.
    Stir often.
    Remove from heat.
    Beat until firm.
    Add oleo, nuts and vanilla.
    Pour into buttered pan.
    Cool.
    Cut into squares.
    Also makes good caramel cake icing.
