Ingredients

1 c. sugar
2 egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3 Tbsp. cold water
1/4 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Put sugar, egg whites, cream of tartar and water in top of double boiler.
Stir well and place over boiling water, being careful that water in lower part does not touch upper pan.
Beat constantly with rotary beater until mixture holds a point, 4 to 5 minutes.
Remove from over the water and add vanilla.
