Fluffy Baking Powder Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. Crisco shortening
    3/4 c. cold 7-Up or Sprite
    melted butter
Preparation
    Sift flour, salt and baking powder together.
    Cut in shortening and blend until mixture is like coarse corn meal.
    Add cold 7-Up or Sprite.
    Stir only until ingredients are evenly moistened.
    Turn onto a lightly floured surface.
    Knead 8 to 10 times quickly.
    Roll to 3/4-inch thick.
    Allow to rest for a few minutes.
    Cut with a floured cookie or biscuit cutter.
    Put in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish; brush with melted butter.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
    Makes 12 flaky and wonderful biscuits!
