Chicken Strata - cooking recipe
Ingredients

butter
5 to 7 slices bread or 2 small pkg. Arnold croutonettes
2 c. cooked and cut-up chicken (4 breasts)
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. mayonnaise
salt
pepper
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. milk
1 can undiluted mushroom soup
4 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
slivered almonds (optional)
Preparation

Butter a 9 x 13-inch pan liberally.
Toast bread and cut into cubes or use croutonettes.
Put in bottom of dish.
Add 2 cups cooked chicken.
Mix together the chopped onion, celery, mayonnaise, salt and pepper.
Spread over chicken.
Beat together the eggs and milk.
Pour over mixture.
Refrigerate overnight. The next day, spoon undiluted mushroom soup over casserole. Sprinkle cheese and almonds over.
Top with buttered crumbs.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 55 to 60 minutes.
