Ingredients

1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. water
1/4 c. vinegar
salt
2 (16 oz.) cans beets, drained
Preparation

Mix sugar and cornstarch.
Add vinegar and water.
Boil 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
Add butter and drained beets.
Salt to taste.
Let stand over low heat 1/2 hour.
