Fig Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. figs
    2 pt. boiling water with level Tbsp. soda
    1 c. white Karo
Preparation
    Pour boiling water with soda over figs.
    Let stand 10 minutes. Rinse in cold water and drain.
    Measure 4 cups sugar and only enough water to dampen sugar.
    Bring Karo to a boil and add figs. Boil 15 minutes.
    Set aside 10 to 12 hours.
    Boil 30 minutes or until syrup looks like honey.
