Old-Fashioned Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. shortening
2 eggs
Preparation

In a large mixing bowl, put 2 cups flour.
Place an indentation in the center and pour in 1/2 cup buttermilk.
Begin working in the other ingredients.
Blend evenly.
Roll on lightly floured surface about 1/4-inch thick.
Cut into strips.
Drop into boiling, rich chicken broth.
You will need about 1 gallon of broth.
