Spanish Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 slices bacon
    1 small onion, finely chopped
    1/4 c. green pepper, chopped
    1/4 c. celery, chopped
    1 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. packaged precooked rice
    2 c. canned tomatoes (1 lb. can), chopped
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Fry bacon in heavy 1-quart saucepan, drain off fat.
    In 1 tablespoon drippings, lightly brown onion, peppers and celery. Add water and salt. Bring to boil.
    Stir in rice, tomatoes, sugar and Worcestershire.
    Simmer until rice is just tender, stirring occasionally.
    Crumble bacon and stir into rice mixture.
    Sprinkle cheese over top.
    Cover and cook over very low heat until cheese melts.
    Serves 6.
