Lime Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers, sliced 1/4-inch thick
    2 c. slacked lime
    1 gal. water
    4 lb. sugar
    3 qt. vinegar
    1/2 box pickling spices
    1 Tbsp. salt
Preparation
    Slice
    cucumbers;
    soak
    pickles in lime with one gallon water for 24 hours.
    Rinse real good; soak in clear water for 2 or
    3 hours.
    Make
    syrup
    of sugar, vinegar, spices and salt. Cook slow for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
    Seal while hot.
