Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks margarine
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. water
    1 Tbsp. white Karo
    1 c. toasted slivered almonds
    6 Hershey bars
Preparation
    Combine margarine, sugar, water and Karo in 2-quart saucepan. Cook on medium heat until it reaches hard crack (290\u00b0) on candy thermometer.
    Pour in 3/4 cup of almonds and mix.
    Pour on large cookie sheet.
    Spread on cookie sheet.
    Lay Hershey bars on top. Spread Hershey bars as they melt.
    Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup almonds on top of Hershey bars.
    Refrigerate for 1 1/2 hours. Break into pieces.
