Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    24 ripe cucumbers
    2 c. lime, dissolved in 2 gal. water
    2 qt. cider vinegar
    6 lb. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pickling spice
    1 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Pour lime mixture over cucumbers covering cucumbers completely. Soak 24 hours, then drain and rinse well.
    Then soak 3 hours in ice water.
    Drain and cover with following mixture and let set out overnight:
    cider vinegar, sugar, salt, pickling spice and cloves. Next morning, put on stove over medium heat.
    Bring to a boil. Boil 10 minutes.
    Place in jars and seal.
