Easy Brunch Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. day old firm white bread, cubed
    2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese (8 oz.)
    10 eggs, slightly beaten
    4 c. milk
    1/4 tsp. onion powder
    dash of pepper
    8 to 10 slices cooked bacon
    1/2 c. sliced mushrooms and/or 1/2 c. cooked broccoli
Preparation
    Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with butter.
    Put cubed or torn bread in dish; sprinkle with cheese.
    Beat together eggs, milk, onion powder and pepper.
    Pour mixture over cheese and bread.
    Sprinkle crumbled bacon, mushrooms and/or broccoli over top of bread and cheese in dish.
    Cover and chill overnight in refrigerator.
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Bake uncovered until set, about one hour.
    (Tent with foil if top browns too quickly.) Serves 12.
