West Hanen Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 pkg. dates
1 c. hot water
1 tsp. soda
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 Tbsp. cocoa
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. nuts
1/2 pkg. chocolate chips
whipped cream

Preparation

Cut package of dates in half.
Pour hot water and soda over them.
Cool.
Cream sugar and shortening.
Add to date mixture. Add salt, eggs, vanilla, cocoa and flour.
Pour into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Sprinkle nuts and chocolate chips on top.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
Serve with whipped cream.
