Beef Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. cubed lean beef stew meat
1 clove garlic
1 to 2 bay leaves
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. black pepper
4 to 6 potatoes, peeled and diced
celery, diced (optional)
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 medium onion, sliced
1/2 Tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. paprika
dash of ground allspice
3 to 4 carrots, peeled and diced
Preparation

Coat stew meat lightly with flour and brown in small amount of oil, stirring often to brown all sides.
Mix remaining ingredients in 2 cups hot water.
Pour over meat.
Cover and cook for 1 1/2 to 2 hours until meat is tender.
Remove bay leaves.
Add diced potatoes and carrots.
Add more water if needed.
Cover and cook over medium heat until vegetables are done.
