Skillet Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 slices lean bacon
    1 1/2 c. yellow cornmeal
    1/2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. ground red pepper
    1 1/4 c. buttermilk
    2 large eggs
    1/4 c. chopped green onions
    1/2 c. fresh or thawed corn
    1/4 c. chopped, seeded, mild, green chilies
    1 fresh jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
Preparation
    In 9-inch cast-iron skillet, cook bacon, over medium-low heat, until crisp.
    Remove bacon; drain on paper towel.
    Crumble and reserve.
    In cup, reserve 2 tablespoons of bacon fat.
    Discard remaining fat.
