Ingredients

1 1/2 c. shortening
2 1/2 c. sugar
5 large eggs
3 c. self-rising flour
1 c. milk
1 tsp. coconut flavoring
1 c. fresh coconut
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar until light.
Add eggs one at a time, beating after each.
Sift flour in a bowl.
Add flour and milk, starting with flour and ending with flour.
Add flavoring and coconut.
Pour in a greased and floured 9-inch tube pan. Place in a cold oven on 350\u00b0 and bake for 1 1/2 hours.
