Eggnog - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    6 eggs, separated
    1 qt. milk, scalded
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. heavy cream, whipped
    2 tsp. vanilla
    nutmeg or cinnamon to taste
Preparation
    Beat 3/4 cup sugar into egg yolks.
    Stir in milk slowly.
    Cook in double boiler, stirring constantly, until coats spoon.
    Chill.
