Half-Time Spoon Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cake compressed yeast
    1/4 c. lukewarm water
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. shortening
    3/4 c. scalded milk
    1/2 c. cold water
    1 egg
    3 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Dissolve compressed yeast in lukewarm water.
    Combine sugar, salt, shortening and scalded milk.
    Cool to lukewarm by adding cold water.
    Blend in egg and yeast.
    Add flour; mix until blended.
    Place in bowl (cover).
    Let rise in warm place 45 to 50 minutes.
