Prairie Chicken (Comanche)(Modern) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 prairie chickens
    flour
    salt
    pepper
    4 sweet potatoes
    lard
    1 c. sorghum syrup
    1/2 c. pecans
Preparation
    Peel sweet potatoes; chop pecans.
    Flour birds and season with salt and pepper.
    Brown on all sides in hot lard.
    Place birds in baking dish.
    Add sweet potatoes.
    Pour sorghum over and sprinkle with nuts.
    Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
