Custard Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. milk, scalded
    2 c. day old bread cubes
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    3 Tbsp. melted butter
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 c. raisins (if desired)
Preparation
    Set oven to 325\u00b0.
    Pour milk over bread cubes; add salt and sugar.
    Beat eggs and add to bread mixture along with butter, vanilla and raisins.
    Pour into a 1 1/2-quart greased casserole. Set casserole in a large ovenproof pan.
    Pour in hot water to 1-inch of top.
    Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until silver knife inserted near rim comes out clean.
