Apricot Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. shortening
    2 beaten eggs
    2 tsp. almond extract
    1 c. apricot preserves
Preparation
    Mix flour, sugar and baking powder.
    Cut in shortening and eggs.
    Add extract.
    Mix until it makes a dough.
    Divide dough, 2/3 for a base.
    Pat the 2/3 of the dough in a 13 x 9-inch greased pan.
    Spread 1 cup of the preserves on top.
    Crumble the remaining dough on top of the preserves.
    Bake for 20 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven or until browned on top.
