Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. white syrup
    2 c. raw peanuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 Tbsp. oleo
    2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Bring 1/2 cup water to boil, then add sugar and syrup. Stir until dissolved and boil until a thread spins. Add peanuts and cook slowly over low fire until it turns golden brown. Take from flame and add remaining ingredients. Stir quickly. Spread on 2 large cookie sheets, well buttered. Place in cold spot to harden, then break into small pieces.
