Ernest T. Bass Rock Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation

Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan.
In a large bowl, cream the butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla.
Beat in the egg.
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, soda and salt.
Blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture and add nuts.
Spread the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle chocolate chips on the top.
Bake in a 375\u00b0 oven for 2 minutes.
Remove and score with a knife to create a marbled effect.
Return to oven and bake for 13 to 16 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serves 12.
