Turkey Chowder - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. finely chopped onion
3 Tbsp. butter
1 1/2 c. diced, cooked turkey
2 c. broth or water
2 c. diced potatoes
1 c. diced carrots
1/2 c. chopped celery
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. thyme (optional)
1 bay leaf (optional)
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 Tbsp. butter
3 Tbsp. flour
2 c. milk
Preparation

Cook onions in 3 tablespoons butter in large saucepan until onion is tender, but not brown.
Add turkey broth, vegetables and seasonings.
Simmer until vegetables are tender.
Melt remaining butter in skillet.
Blend in flour.
Add milk and cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
Stir white sauce into turkey-vegetable mixture and heat thoroughly.
Serve immediately. Makes 1 1/2 quarts of chowder or 4 to 6 servings.
