Simmered Chinese Chicken - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 whole chicken legs and thighs
1 Tbsp. oil
1/3 c. soy sauce
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. water
1 Tbsp. catsup
1/4 c. dry sherry
dash of two of Tabasco sauce
1 garlic clove, minced
4 green onions, sliced
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 Tbsp. water
2 tsp. toasted sesame seed (toast seed in shallow pan at 350~ for 8 minutes, watch closely)
Preparation

Heat oil in Dutch oven and brown chicken on all sides.
Mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, water, catsup, sherry, Tabasco sauce, garlic and green onion.
Pour mixture over chicken.
Cover, simmer 35 to 45 minutes.
Remove chicken to platter.
Thicken pan juices with the cornstarch mixture.
Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Spoon some sauce over chicken, sprinkle with sesame seed.
Serve chicken with remaining sauce.
