Fried Cucumbers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    cukes
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
    salt and pepper
    1 or 2 c. oil or shortening
    1 c. flour
    1 c. cornmeal
Preparation
    Slice desired number of cukes lengthwise with green peelings on. In a mixing bowl, beat egg and milk with salt and pepper. Using a heavy, deep skillet, pour oil or shortening. Heat hot; our Fry Baby's aren't hot enough. Mix flour and cornmeal in bowl. When oil is hot enough, dip sliced cukes into egg mixture, then into flour mixture, forming a batter. Fry until light brown. Drain on cake rack covered with paper towels.
