Indian Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. milk
    1/3 c. cornmeal
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. molasses
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/8 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Heat oven to 275\u00b0.
    In a saucepan, heat milk over medium heat until bubbles appear around edges of pan.
    Stir cornmeal slowly into milk.
    Cook 10 minutes, or until thickened, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat; add sugar, molasses, salt, cinnamon, ginger and baking soda; mix well.
    Pour into a greased 1-quart baking dish.
    Bake 2 hours or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
    Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
