Pickled Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    beets
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. vinegar
    2 c. water
    3 tsp. pickling spice (put in bag)
    1 thin sliced lemon or 1 tsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Cook small young beets until tender.
    Put in cool water and peel off skins.
