Batter Fried Okra - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    9 to 12 pods okra
    1 egg
    3/4 c. milk
    3/4 c. self-rising flour
    3/4 c. corn meal
    vegetable oil
Preparation
    Cut up okra into 1/4-inch slices.
    Beat egg in a container; add milk and stir together.
    Stir okra into mixture until coated.
    Put meal and flour into a small paper bag.
    Shake well to mix flour and meal.
    Place a small amount of okra into bag and shake until okra is coated.
    Place 1/2-inch of cooking oil in a frying pan and heat. Place okra into hot oil and fry until brown.
