Ingredients

2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. margarine
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. soda
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. golden raisins
Preparation

Cover raisins with boiling water and allow to plump while combining remaining ingredients.
Cream sugar and margarine.
Add eggs and mix.
Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with buttermilk to the sugar mixture.
Fold in raisins and nuts.
