English Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 lb. butter (margarine won't work)
    3 Tbsp. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 small Hershey bars (without nuts)
    chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Place first 4 ingredients in a saucepan and cook until brown (about 15 minutes), stirring all the time to prevent burning. Pour into a buttered pan (cookie sheet or 9 x 13-inch pan).
    Lay Hershey bars on hot mass and spread.
    Sprinkle nuts on top.
    Cool and break in pieces.
