Soft Pretzels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. yeast
    3/4 tsp. salt
    4 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. warm water
    1 1/2 tsp. sugar
    1 egg
    coarse salt
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Soften yeast in warm water in a large bowl.
    Add salt and sugar.
    Mix in flour; knead to make a soft, smooth dough.
    Do not let rise.
    Cut immediately into smaller pieces.
    Roll into ropes and form pretzel shapes.
    Place on cookie sheets covered with foil and dusted with flour.
    Brush pretzels with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse salt.
    Bake 15 minutes or until light brown.
    Serve warm or cold.
    Plain or with mustard or cheese sauce.
    Makes 3 to 6 dozen.
