French Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 Tbsp. butter
    5 c. thinly sliced onions
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. salt
    6 beef bouillon cubes
    6 1/3 c. water
    6 toast rounds
    1/2 c. grated cheese
Preparation
    Saute onions in butter until golden brown. Sprinkle with pepper. Bring bouillon cubes and water to a boil. Add onions and salt. Simmer, covered, for 1 hour.
    Place 1 toast round in each soup dish. Pour in soup and sprinkle with cheese.
    Makes 6 servings.
