My Favorite Shoo-Fly Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    1 c. King syrup
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    3/4 c. cold water
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 c. hot water
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Cut together flour, brown sugar and margarine with pastry blender.
    Reserve 1/2 cup crumbs for topping. Combine in mixing bowl, syrup, egg, cold water, baking soda and hot water.
    Add crumb mixture to liquid mixture.
    Mix well.
    Pour into 9-inch unbaked pie shell.
    Sprinkle reserved crumbs on top.
    Bake 35 minutes.
