Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    3 c. flour
    1 c. milk
    4 eggs, well beaten
    2 tsp. allspice
    3 tsp. cinnamon
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. nuts (walnuts best)
    1 c. blackberry jam
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Sift flour, measure and sift with the spices and cocoa.
    Add nuts, raisins and jam.
    Cream shortening and sugar; add well beaten eggs.
    Add flour mixture alternately with the milk.
    Bake in a moderate 350\u00b0 oven.
    Makes 3 layers. Frost with your favorite frosting.
