Wadmalaw Onion Spread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium Wadmalaw Island Sweets (onions)
    1/2 c. cider vinegar
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
    1 tsp. celery seed
    Melba rounds
Preparation
    Slice onions very thin.
    Combine with vinegar, sugar and water; let stand in refrigerator 3 to 4 hours.
    Drain liquid from onions thoroughly (let drain about 1 hour).
    Combine onions with mayonnaise and celery salt.
    Serve with Melba rounds.
