Sour Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter (2 sticks)
    3 c. sugar
    6 eggs, separated
    3 c. cake flour, sift before measuring
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. commercial sour cream
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating after each addition.
    Sift soda with flour 3 times.
    Add flour and sour cream alternately to mixture.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Turn into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
    Bake in preheated oven at 300\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
    Remove from pan after cake has cooled.
    This is like a pound cake and keeps well.
