White Buttermilk Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    3 c. flour
    1 c. Crisco (not butter type)
    1 2/3 c. buttermilk
    1 Tbsp. vanilla or almond flavoring
    4 egg whites
    1 tsp. each soda, salt and baking powder
Preparation
    Cream together shortening, sugar and 2/3 cup buttermilk.
    Add unbeaten egg whites.
    Beat well, but not too dry (may look curdled).
    Add remaining ingredients and beat well.
    Bake in greased and floured 11 x 13-inch pan at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes or until tester comes out clean.
