Corn Fritters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    oil
    1 3/4 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. shortening, melted
    1 1/2 Tbsp. parsley
    1 (12 oz.) can whole kernel corn
Preparation
    Heat 1 1/2-inches fat to 375\u00b0.
    Sift flour and next 3 items together.
    Combine egg, milk and shortening.
    Pour into flour mixture and stir until just smooth.
    Add parsley and corn; drop by tablespoons into hot fat.
    Fry 3 to 5 minutes, turning as they rise.
    Drain on absorbent paper.
    Serve hot with syrup.
    Serves 4 to 6.
