Fruit Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    3 c. flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1/4 c. milk
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 can fruit pie filling
Preparation
    Combine dry ingredients.
    Cut shortening into dry ingredients as for pie crust.
    Mix egg, milk and vanilla and add to dry mixture.
    Pat mixture into ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan, saving 1/3 of mixture.
    Pour fruit filling over the mixture in pan and crumble remaining 1/3 mixture over the fruit.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
