Martha Washington Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. candied red cherries
    1/2 lb. candied green cherries
    1 c. Crisco
    4 eggs
    3 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 lb. Brazil nuts
    1/2 lb. English walnuts
    2 c. sugar
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Cream Crisco and sugar; add beaten eggs. Mix nuts, cherries, flour, salt and baking powder. Add milk and flour alternately, beginning and ending with flour. Add vanilla. Bake in three 9-inch layers in 375\u00b0 oven. Cool and ice with Coconut Icing.
