Whole Wheat Bran Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 pkg. dry yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
3 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. hot water
1/4 c. soft shortening
4 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. unprocessed wheat bran
3 to 4 c. bread flour
Preparation

Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Add
brown
sugar, salt, hot water, shortening, whole wheat flour, bran and 1 cup bread flour. Beat
at medium speed for 3
minutes.
Add
remaining flour gradually to form a stiff dough and
knead
until smooth and elastic.
Let rise in greased bowl,
covered
loosely with plastic.
When doubled in size, punch down and
let
rest
10 minutes.
Place in 2 greased bread pans and bake
at
375\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
Reduce
heat
to 350\u00b0 and bake 10
to
15
more minutes.
