Chocolate Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

German chocolate cake mix
1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
1/2 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. butter
2 c. nuts
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Prepare cake mix as directed on box. Pour 1/2 of the batter in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake for 15 minutes.
Melt caramels, milk and butter in a saucepan.
Sprinkle 1 cup nuts on cake.
Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Pour caramel mixture over cake.
Spoon remaining cake batter into pan and top with remaining nuts.
Bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes.
