English Muffins - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 pkg. or cakes yeast
1/2 c. milk, scalded
4 tsp. baking powder
3 Tbsp. sugar
2/3 c. warm water
1/4 c. shortening
1 1/4 tsp. salt
3 1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Scald milk and pour over shortening and salt.
When mixture cools to lukewarm, add dissolved yeast.
Add sifted flour, sugar and baking powder.
Beat for 3 minutes.
Cover; let stand in a warm place for 15 minutes.
