Goodbye Turkey Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. melted butter
5 Tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. onion salt
1 tsp. salt, divided
2 1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. grated cheese, divided
2 c. sliced turkey or chicken
1 1/2 c. broth
1 1/2 c. cooked asparagus
1 1/3 c. Minute rice
Preparation

Melt butter; add flour, onion salt, 1/2 of salt and stir in milk.
Cook over hot water, stirring until thick.
Pour rice (right from box) into 2-quart shallow baking dish.\tCombine broth, 1/2 of salt and pour over rice.
Sprinkle 1/2 of cheese over, top with asparagus, then turkey or chicken.
Pour on sauce.
Sprinkle with rest of cheese.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.\tTop with slivered almonds (optional).
Serves 6.
