Golden Rice Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter
    1/3 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 c. chicken broth
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 1/2 c. cooked white rice
    2 c. cooked chicken, cut up
    1 (3 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
    1/3 c. chopped green pepper
    1/4 c. slivered almonds
    snipped parsley
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat; blend in flour, salt and pepper.
    Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is bubbly and smooth.
    Stir in chicken broth and milk; heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil for 1 minute and pour over the chicken, mushrooms and green pepper which have been put into an ungreased 1 1/2-quart casserole.
    Bake uncovered for 40 minutes.
    Sprinkle with almonds and parsley.
    Serves 8.
