Miracle Cherry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small box vanilla pudding
    1/4 c. sugar
    2 tsp. lemon juice
    1/2 c. water
    16 oz. can pitted tart red cherries
    1 Tbsp. butter
    4 drops red coloring (optional)
    1 (8-inch) pie crust, baked
    whipped topping
Preparation
    Combine in saucepan pudding, sugar, lemon juice and water. Add cherries with juice.
    Cook and stir to a full boil.
    Remove from heat.
    Add butter and food coloring.
    Chill in baked 8-inch pie shell.
    Top with whipped topping.
