Ingredients

1 c. self-rising flour
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. white sugar
1/2 c. milk
2 Tbsp. melted shortening
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. brown sugar
4 Tbsp. cocoa
1 3/4 c. hot water
Preparation

Mix together flour, 2 tablespoons cocoa, salt and white sugar. Stir in milk and melted shortening.
Add chopped nuts and vanilla.
Spread in a 9-inch square pan.
Sprinkle with mixture of brown sugar and 4 tablespoons cocoa.
Over entire mixture, pour hot water.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
