Pork Chop Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    4 pork chops (3/4 inch thick)
    2 large sweet potatoes, pared and cut in chunks
    2 large onions, sliced 1/2 inch thick
    1 1/2 c. freshly squeezed orange juice
    5 whole cloves
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    2 apples, cored and sliced in 8 wedges
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 Tbsp. white wine vinegar
    2 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
Preparation
    In large skillet, heat oil.
    Brown chops on both sides. Arrange onion and potato slices around chops.
    Combine orange juice, cloves, salt and pepper; pour over vegetables.
    Cover and simmer 30 minutes until chops are tender.
    Add apples; cover and cook 10 minutes longer.
    With slotted spoon, remove meat, vegetables and apples to serving platter.
    Remove and discard cloves.
