Christmas Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. boiling water
    1 c. Nabisco bran
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. Crisco (add hot water to melt)
    2 c. buttermilk
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. Kellogg's Bran Flakes
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over Nabisco bran and let cool.
    Add sugar, Crisco, buttermilk, flour, soda and salt.
    Mix well and add Bran Flakes.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 20 minutes in greased muffin tins. Raisins or dates can be added to batter before baking.
    Batter can be kept in refrigerator for 1 month.
